Go Mobile! With Microsoft Office 'Mobile'

No matter how attractive, user friendly or exciting the Android or iOS be, mostly all the users would agree that they miss one app which they use frequently on their desktops or laptops to create and manage their documents – Microsoft Office. It has become a necessity for anyone who uses a computer. The wide use of mobiles for personal and professional purposes has led to a new demand in the market for a good mobile app for documentation. And, as usual, Microsoft has caught the right nerve and has decided to launch its MS Office mobile application for users.

Microsoft Office

One of the first applications to be installed on any device is a good editing and documentation tool. But, unfortunately, we don’t have many good apps available for this purpose. Some would have a bad interface and others might not be user friendly or might not allow you to edit the documents. In such a case, what could be better than Microsoft Office itself! We would have something very familiar, something that we use on day-to-day basis and something that has almost all that we need on our mobiles for maintaining our documents or data.

The only reason for such a popularity of MS Office is the wide user base, and it is a reason enough to make it an instant hit in the mobile market. The moment it enters the market, it would be the first thing that people would install on their iPhones, iPads and Android devices.

This is going to be one of the best apps to enter the mobile industry. Apart from the individual users, it would be a very useful mobile app development for business users as well, who might have been waiting for this news for a long time. In the days where time is everything, a powerful tool for documentation is all that a mobile user needs.

Office
Microsoft has announced the release of MS Office Mobile in early next year. It would be accessible by iOS and Android users from around March 2013, allowing the mobile users to access and edit their documents on the go. The users would just have to have a Microsoft account to enable basic functionality of Office Mobile app. It would provide support for MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. But if you want to edit the documents you would have to purchase Office 365 subscription.

Experts and people from different domains are speculating the actual release dates and are claiming it to be released any time between February to May 2013. However, it might so happen that the Android users could be the last ones to get access to this wonderful app – something that might disappoint them a little.

After this release, MS Office would be available as a Windows, iOS and Android based application. We believe, quite a few of us have been waiting for this mobile app for some time and would follow the news closely to get our hands on it as soon as it enters the market. We would surely keep an eye on it and would inform our readers once we get to know any new developments on this in the coming few days.

Mobile Website Design: DaffodilSW

Below mentioned are some of those points, which are essential to keep in mind for mobile web designers.

Scaling it down: The chief rule of mobile web is that people will be visiting the websites on a smaller screen in comparison to PC or laptop. For this purpose, you have to keep the designing simple in all forms. While designing a mobile web page, focus on the main content and important links of the website. This way, users will find it easy to access the information, which they require. You can keep the graphics and images out if they are not required for easy and quick loading of the site.

White Spacing: As the canvas of the site will be relatively smaller, using the white space in a proper manner is important. Utilizing the white space in a desired manner is advised as too much of colored blocks will leave the users confused and unsatisfied. Remember not to exaggerate the white space or it look like the site is not loading.

Theme Utilization: While designing a mobile web page, make sure that you keep the theme in the same manner of the original website. This will give the users a cue about surfing the website that they actually want to take into use. In addition, you can give some unique control options, which can give the user’s freshness to access the site in a better manner to optimize their experience.

Preferences: While designing a web page for mobile, make sure that you keep the options in the same manner as it is given in the original website. Do not make any sacrifices when it comes to giving important options for the users to access. If users are stuck with what they actually want, they will prefer to take use of the real time web page which will kaput your hard work. Usage of options should be provided specially in online booking web pages.

Content: Give the users the ease of accessing the content, which they require. If you are not providing with enough content, which is there on the actual website, you might lose users. This can prove to be a downfall for your mobile web page. Try avoiding banner ads in your web page for mobile so that you are able to put in more and more content for the users.
